Dr. Mike moved to James Island in 2002 after receiving his Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Before that, he worked as an engineer for 7 years after receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. Dr. Mike is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife Ellen, his son Henry, Duke (the old black lab), and Milo (the 22.5 lb cat). With fitness as a top priority, Dr. Mike has been an active member of F3 Nation for many years, has participated in numerous Palmetto 200 races, and even ran the Kiawah Marathon in December 2019.

Front Desk Specialist
Jennifer is the point person on the phone and the first smile you will see as you enter the office. She will help you with appointment setting and insurance information.
Chelsea is experienced in all phases of patient care, but specializes in pretesting.
Cory will ensure you find the perfect fit for frames in our vast inventory of glasses and sunglasses. She has years of experience as an optician and loves working not only with our patients, but also our vendors, to ensure we stay up to date with the latest frame styles.
Meredith specializes in pretesting for all of Dr. Mike’s patients. Like Dr. Mike, Meredith is also a graduate of Clemson University with a Bioengineering degree.
