Our new office is OPEN in South Windermere Shopping Center effective September 14, 2020!

The new location allows the Palmetto Vision Care team stay on pace with rapid growth of the practice and the surrounding areas, and to serve more patients daily with two brand new exam rooms equipped with the latest technology.

COVID Precautions

We value the safety & health of our patients & clients equally as much as that of our staff and their families. As such, we are grateful that our new office offers significantly more space for social distancing. Nevertheless, we are continuing with our COVID precautions including:

Hand sanitizer upon entry

Temperature check & COVID screening questionnaire prior to commencing appointment

Regular sanitization of common areas and our frame inventory

Our Story

Dr. Michael Morabito began practicing optometry in Charleston in 2002 after receiving his Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Before that, he worked as an engineer for 7 years after receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. After a few years, he decided to start Palmetto Vision Care (“PVC”) in early 2005. In January 2008, Dr. Morabito moved the practice to James Island, and the practice has been growing ever since. To keep up with the rapid growth in Charleston, the Practice relocated yet again in September 2020 to South Windermere Shopping Center in West Ashley, just over the Wappoo Cut from James Island.

Dr. Mike is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife Ellen, his son Henry, Duke (the old black lab), and Milo (the 22.5 lb cat). With fitness as a top priority, Dr. Mike has been an active member of F3 Nation for many years, has participated in numerous Palmetto 200 relay races, and even ran the Kiawah Marathon in December 2019.

The PVC staff is well trained, and is continually being updated on new ways to solve vision issues. We are a forward thinking practice, and are constantly striving to use the latest in mobile and computer technology to communicate with our patients. One example is our easy appointment scheduling system. With several clicks, you can set up an appointment at your convenience.
